East Lake Golf Club Pond Restoration
Restoring Water Quality. Preserving Course Excellence.
Two ponds on a championship golf course in Atlanta, Georgia, restored by removing and dewatering 12,000 cubic yards of organic sludge, with zero environmental releases and no disruption to course operations.
Submit Project DetailsC&M Dredging was contracted to restore two ponds at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, a nationally recognized championship golf course. Years of accumulated organic material had reduced pond depths, impacted water quality, and diminished the appearance of these important course features. To restore their functionality while minimizing disruption to daily operations, C&M utilized an Ellicott 360SL hydraulic dredge to remove 12,000 cubic yards of organic sludge, transporting material through 4,000 feet of HDPE pipeline to designated upland dewatering areas.
C&M constructed two fully lined containment areas equipped with 24 geotextile tubes and an automated polymer injection system to efficiently separate solids from water. A closed-loop water return system directed clarified water back to the ponds, eliminating offsite discharge while protecting surrounding soils and waterways. The project successfully restored pond depths, improved water clarity and circulation, and enhanced the course’s overall aesthetics—all with zero environmental releases, zero regulatory issues, and no disruption to golf course operations.
